Design Rational
I've got to say, I am in LOVE with this space! We have your ‘California Cool’ with the colors and a touch of formality and tradition with the patterns and mixed metal finishes.
For the vanity, a new faucet and some fabulous new handles will add an incredible custom touch. Mixing the black and gold metals give the space high style and balance! And the mirror flanked by the sconces will give you a beautiful layer of light!
I chose a warm white for the walls and a beautiful blue green that will look incredible on the inside of the door! Adding the three black and brass hooks to the back of the door will give your guest an accessible place to put their towel for showering.
I chose a ceiling mounted curtain rod to add height to the space, and a simple shower curtain that is classic with a fun embroidered detail that will tie in with the tile.
The space is accessorized with a cool toilet paper tower, and some great art! I can also help you find a local artist if you would like. Those and a little plant are all you need in this space!
There are more detailed instructions in the shopping list next to each item!
DINING ROOM
For your dining room I wanted to embrace ALL your fun and eclectic energy!
We spoke about doing a tone on tone “scribble” treatment on the walls. I think this is a great way to bring in your creativity and make it truly your own! I think going with the Sherwin Williams Pacer white and doing the scribble in a stark pure white would look amazing! I would take it all the way down the stairs to the corner of the wall where the hallway starts.
I added another rug that is more traditional but still fun and colorful.
Up Stairs Landing
We need to make a statement on the upstairs landing since it is what people see when they walk in!
This Sazerac Stiches sconce is AMAZING! I love the unexpected pink and red with the classic shape makes me so happy! There is also a little DIY I included if we want to go that route!
I love thisTat Frederick piece that will draw your eye up Into the space but It isn't so bold that it looks like a big dark hole up there. He Is exclusive to Scout Studios and has several pieces that would work great in this space if you aren't into the cowboy boots. I think ANY of his stuff would work as long as it is the right size. This one is 39” square
Grouping these two colorful pieces with neutral accessories like the stool, gives a rounded out look.
